Departure after breakfast from your accommodation (villa, hotel or farmhouse) to Abbazia di Sant’ Antimo, one of the most ancient and famous abbeys in Italy, also known for its Gregorian chants and its atmosphere recalling the movie “The name of the Rose”. We will go on to visit the town centre of Montalcino, the home-town of Brunello. After visiting the Fortress of the Medici Family, you will walk through the streets of the city centre. We will move to reach Bagno Vignoni, a small medieval town where it is possible to visit and enjoy the ancient roman baths still springing hot sulphuric water. You can have lunch in a typical restaurant, tasting the best food of the local tradition. Travelling then along scenic routes, that were set of famous
movies like "Gladiator” and “The English patient", we will reach the renaissance city of Pienza where Pope Pio II was born. In the city centre you will visit the Pope’s residence and the typical terrace, where you will admire amazing views on the National Park of Val d’Orcia. Moreover you will have a rest in one of the shops and taste the delicious sheep cheese "Pecorino di Pienza". The tour carries on with the medieval town of Montepulciano famous for the production of Nobile di Montepulciano wine. Walking through the city centre streets, you will admire the workrooms where the artisans work copper to make hand made frames. We will be back to your accommodation for dinner time.
